A wonderful achievement for Volga Dance Academy on one of the biggest stages in American DanceSport!
On Saturday, September 12, Ilya Mark and Tinatini “Tika” Jolbordi represented Volga Dance Academy at the 2026 United States Dance Championships (USDC) in Orlando, Florida, earning an outstanding 2nd place in International Ballroom competition.
Taking the floor at USDC is an achievement in itself. Bringing home a silver-medal result from a competition of this level makes the moment even more special.
Ilya and Tika’s performance reflects the dedication, discipline, partnership, and countless hours of training that stand behind competitive DanceSport. We are incredibly proud to see our young dancers represent Volga Dance Academy among such a strong field of competitors.
About the United States Dance Championships
The United States Dance Championships is one of the premier events on the American DanceSport calendar. The 2026 championships took place September 7–12 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida, bringing together leading Amateur, Pro/Am, and Professional dancers for six days of competition.
USDC serves as the official home of American DanceSport championship competition and features U.S. National Championships as well as U.S. Open to the World events, attracting accomplished dancers from across the United States and internationally.
For young dancers, competing on a floor of this caliber is an important milestone — and finishing in 2nd place is a result worth celebrating.
